The essentials
- Sun protection - sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat. The sun reflects off the water and is stronger than you think.
- Water and snacks - stay hydrated, and bring a cooler with food and non-alcoholic drinks (check local rules on alcohol).
- A light layer - it can get breezy on the water, especially in the morning or evening.
- A dry bag or ziplock - to keep phones, keys and wallets safe and dry.
- A valid ID - and, for self-drive rentals, a valid driver's license.
Nice to have
- A towel and a change of clothes if you plan to swim.
- A waterproof phone case for photos.
- Bluetooth speaker for music (keep the volume neighborly).
